Welcome to the Farm!

In 2007, the Agroecology Farm was created as an educational opportunity for NC State students. It was dedicated by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and receives support from the Department of Crop Science and the Center for Environmental Farming Systems, University Dining Services, and Yates Mill Park. The farm is small, but is run by a tight staff and lots of volunteers! The mission of the farm is to provide hands-on education for students and community members about sustainable agriculture.

The farm is currently working on projects such as the hoop house, crop rotation, pollinator garden, honey bee hives, post harvest area, and soil fertility. Our group is working to establish a vermicomposting project at the farm that will be another educational aspect, as well as provide useful compost for the crops on the farm.
